Should I crate my dog?

Crate training your dog has so many benefits!

The main one is that you have provided your dog with a safe & secure space. Somewhere they can go when they feel nervous and stressed but also a place you can send them to when your environment may not be safe for them.

Sometimes dogs (especially working breeds) need some encouragement when it comes to 'down time'. Certain breeds will just Go go go and need time to rest and learn to switch off.

I like to think of it like toddlers; when they are tired they get irritable, cry and haven't quite figured out what their body is telling them. so you help to settle them by showing them what they may need right?! It's the same for your dog, you might need to help settle them too!

Crates can also help with Puppy toilet training. Most dogs will avoid making mess where they sleep.

If you wish to add a crate or boot guard to your vehicle for travelling, the transition from their home crate to the travel one will be much smoother.

Sometimes us dog owners just need a break from our demanding fur babies!

Dog training isn't just about what's best for the dogs, it's also about creating a nice environment for ourselves.
